Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I took delivery of some turf today and have been left with a wooden palette. Can anyone make use of this?

The lorry driver hesitantly said I could call the company to collect it on one of their rounds but thought I'd offer it here first.

Ooh! These make fantastic window boxes if you chop 'em up and rework them. I'm not 'handy' myself, but I'm sure someone else here will be up to the challenge :D

Nicholas. Happy to take it off your hands if you have no other productive use for it. I will mail you.

can anyone reuse this other than for firewood?

See above.

I cant help you Nicholas, but wanted to add that I too have a couple of palettes cluttering me up (one wood one bamboo) for months. Happy to give them away for any purpose. Tried frecycle previously to no avail! They are in danger of becoming part of the (garden) furtniture ...

For the avoidance of confusion or disappointment, may we ask whether this is a mere Hockney or Titian palette, or one of those objects of desire, a Jewson pallet ?

It's a rather fine pallet Eddie. In fact Pamish has made me aware of its value.

It's not firewood, it's a vertical garden. Here you go.

What a great idea Pamish. I might give this a try.

Wow, that's fantastic. If anyone else feels inspired there is an abandoned pallet at the top of Seymour...
When I first saw this post I thought it sounded like a great idea but the pallet I had was earmarked for a different project, that's now fallen through, so I decided to make one of these. I did it slightly differently and put the sheeting on the inside of the pallet all around it. Once it was filled with soil I cut some slits in it which pulled forward into nice little planting cups.

Couple of pictures attached.
