Does anyone know what is being done to the land that (many years ago) used to be a petrol station on West Green Road across from Etherley Road? There is a lot of digging going on...

Thank you very much. Having some time on my hands I had a look through the appeal - it is interesting to note that the units will be 100% "affordable" housing, but I am not exactly sure what that means for the area. Affordable for whom??? Anyway, thank you. I guess this just passed me by!
This government definition of affordable housing might help.
Does anyone seriously believe that these new homes (probably tiny and cramped) will actually be affordable to people who live in the area? And, judging by the links posted by Hugh, anyone living there is probably going to have a lowered life expectancy. Still, I suppose Haringey Council will be quite happy with that, shortening the lives of poorer people, so that the Kober Kabal can concentrate on bringing in rich gentrifiers (witness their attempts to destroy the local community at Wards Corner, and indeed throughout the eastern part of the borough). We are living in a corrupt, one-party, rotten borough, where the ruling clique feel they can get away with everything, and ride roughshod over the interests of the citizens. As a Labour Party member, and life-time member of the labour movement, I despair of our local political representatives.
