Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

For a few days now I've suspected something was afoot with Turnpike Lane's Banksy; it's been surrounded by scaffolding and tarpaulin since Wednesday - and there was a security van present for much of that time.

This morning I had a sneaky look under said tarpaulin to find it had been removed. I spoke to the guy rendering the wall and he said that after repeated attempts to gouge it out, the owner of the Poundland building had decided to take steps to 'preserve' it. He wasn't sure where it's gone...one can only wonder if it's been sold. Sad to see it go - it was nice to have a landmark of sorts...

The Galley's email is info@faamiami.com A cross email perhaps?

So, where is that petition asking Banksy NOT TO authenticate this? In my view this would be the only way to undermine this auction.

Have we got details of the building owner who sold it??

I dont give a monkeys about their legal rights.  IT WAS OURS!!!!!  For the community.

I want payback

The dirty greed git, needs exposing and shaming.  But public burning would be most suitable really :P

The Miami Herald says this 'has sparked an international firestorm. The Herald says, 'Since it launched in late 2011, Fine Arts Auction Miami has operated fairly quietly in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood, holding regular auctions without stirring up much attention. Until now.'

Frederic Thut, the auction house owner told The Sun that the piece along with another mural, Wet Dog, were being offered by a “well-known collector” who was not British.

Now why doesn't someone contact Kevin McGurgan HM Consul General based in ... Miami

Wouldn't you say the bunting is a later ( non-Banksy ) addition ?

The child is sewing something, possibly a garment, that obviously is not bunting.

Thanks Gillian

I hope nobody trips over those dangerously stored materials.

Hob, are you some kind of philistine? Those dangerously stored materials are Harringayonline's collective entry for this year's Turner - now vandalised by someone's new stencilled doodle.

Oops sorry O.A.E. Of course, it is an homage to "Equivalent VIII" by Carl Andre.

To which my curiously disappeared alternative title was: "Listen up, Blockheads."
