Buying the tree may not be the best bit of the whole Christmas tree experience - but rush it a your peril! So, what better way to give yourself a little extra time than buying your tree from an independent local supplier.
So far we've found three in Harringay:
1. Anthos, 601 Green Lanes (just north of Beresford)
A full range of non-drop needle trees from one of the longest established and friendliest businesses in Harringay.
2. Harringay Market, North Harringay School, Falkland Road SOLD OUT!
From Harringay Market's proprietor, Jess, a range of Christmas trees from Hertfordshire. On Sundays from 11 to 3.
3. Lido, 479-481 Green Lanes, Harringay (between Mattison & Pemberton)
Some handsome looking trees out in front of the shop right in the heart of Harringay.
Who have I missed?

If you're west of the Ladder - The Garden Shop Hornsey!
We got ours from the Christmas Tree Farm in Chesham. A bit of a drive, but a nice one. Trees from there have been the best trees we've ever had from anywhere, by far!
This year, we got a very fine shaped 7.5' tree for £61, non drop. This seemed pretty good value to me :)
Last year we had our tree from the same Christmas Tree Farm, from the first year in December to Twelfth Night, and it hardly dropped a needle.
A very nice 4' tree we also picked up for a friend was only £19 which was also good.
The trees they have are only cut one or two days before you buy, at most. They are also harvested throughout the Christmas period, so you never need to buy a tree that's been sitting about too long. This is unlike most garden centres who apparently may have trees up to a month old... Of course, I can't say that's true of the above three retailers, but I can say that we're very happy with ours and will be going back next year too!
They are back again this year.
Lovely bunch of blokes too!
What about the bags of firewood that you had at the Christmas tree stall, will you still be selling those? (I need some more)
Jim - On the corner of St Ann's Road and Rowley Road. He has lots still available and they are lovely. Choose between live planted or chopped ones. He said he will be there till 6.30 this evening and again on Monday. They also have lovely hand made circular wreaths.
Bargains, and a lovely man.
Happy Christmas all.
