Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I do love Christmas but here's some rather sobering figures on what is discarded at the end of the festivities.

- 10 million turkeys are consumed in the UK, with 76% of the population eating some;
- the amount of wrapping paper thrown away could reach the Moon if laid end to end;
- an estimated 1,500 square miles of tin foil is thrown away;
- 500 tons of Christmas tree lights are discarded;
- 13,350 tons of glass is thrown away, including champagne and sherry bottles, to jars of cranberry sauce.

I'm sure we'll all do our bit recycling our food waste, taking our old Christmas cards to recycling points, making sure our trees are disposed of responsibly and saving our decorations until next year but do you have any top tips for cutting down on Christmas waste?

Please share!

Ban it.

I think some Puritans tried something like that once before but it didn't really work out well for them and this old fellow had to join in in the end.

God rest ye merry Gentlemen and don't forget to recycle!
