If no joy from this, try ReStore in Tottenham - "We collect furniture and appliances from households, hotels, recycling centres and other locations. Our collection area covers a wide range of places. To arrange a collection, please phone us on 020 8493 0900." They are a Good Thing.
BTW I got locked out of my Freecycle account recently, a Yahoo glitch I think, had to re-register which is a PITA.
ReStore is a great idea but they do charge to collect your furniture. The last time I used them they charged me £16.50 to collect the furniture (but I believe this is now £10). I only live 10 minutes walk from them and there was plenty there for them to collect; wardbrobes, sofa bed, book cases, table and chairs etc.
I thought it was a bit much charging for collection when you are donating the furniture so I just looked upon it as a charitable act and free cycled in future.
That's useful to know. I guess they do have to invest fuel and maybe some of their trips are wasted as they pick up "at the driver's discretion". Fee is £10 on their website.
There's a couple of nice looking chairs shown there that I may go and have a look at....
I *think* that if you arrange a collection by Veolia, you can specify that you want the item to be sent to Restore. These are the things that are collected for free but offering via the site is good too!
