"It was brilliant. We made a slide"
My five year old's verdict on the new playpod at South Harringay Infants and Nursery school, which was officially opened by celebrity superhero Spiderman at last week's International Evening.
Today, the first use was made of it by the pupils at the school during their lunch break and it has glowing reviews from year 1.
What are playpods?
The Scrapstore PlayPod provides a container full of materials and equipment (loose parts) that can stimulate, facilitate and enhance children’s play. In other words, kids get given scrap and they build their own toys and games.
The parts are changed regularly and all have been checked to make sure they are safe for kids to play with.
The best way to give you an idea is to show you this video from Hackney Play on how kids make use of the pods
South Harringay Infants, being one of very few schools in the area that have a pod, are very excited about this new arrival in the playground, which helps to make lunchtime a fun time.

Perfect for my little one :-) All he wants to do is build and create and we are sadly lacking in materials (and creativity) at home!
Looks really interesting. Do you know how much it cost?
