Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Yesterday afternoon I caught a flash of neon blue darting up the New River and was really surprised to find it was a Kingfisher. This is the first one I've ever seen in London. They tend to return to the same branches just above the water to catch their food. So, if you're interested, next time you're on Pemberton bridge look in the bushes on the north side of the river towards Mattison and you might see it.

I was delighted to watch a heron fishing at night in the New RIver just by Warham Bridge on Friday night, strutting around whilst being watched rather boredly by the Harringay Swans. He seemed to be doing pretty well in his hunt.

I shall be looking for the kingfisher. I've only ever seen one and that was in the country.

I see the Kingfisher quite regularly on my side on mattison road river. But I have not seen it catch any fish yet. I like to take a picture the bird but dont have a good camera or camera skills coz they are fast birds.

Yes you are right!

The kingfisher has been seen  twice from Railway Fields Nature Reserve on the New River in the past couple of weeks.

Fantastic!

Yes I've seen it too from Mattison Road. Wonderful in such an urban landscape.
