Nevertheless, you should raise this issue if you feel strongly enough and because the school should be alerted that this conversation is taking place. My children are both South Harringay students as well, one in the Junior school.
Don't forget you have parent governors who will also represent your interests to the governing body. If there are any 'unofficial policy' that may act against the interests of the parents, then it should be investigated. There should be clarity on this issue and not speculation.
As well as contacting the headteacher and/or parent governors, schools' Governing Bodies have a Chair of Governors.
One phonecall to a school should be sufficient to get the names and contact arrangements for every member of a school governing body - and without having to give a reason.
