For those of you who missed our tweet at the weekend, The Daily Telegraph ran a short piece under the headline "Where are the best food markets in north London?"
It chose three, one of which was our local!

That's great! We went last week and bought some lovely food. I was concerned though as there were no signs advertising it (e.g. wooden folding ones on Green lanes or even into the schoolyard) -- I think some advertising (but not thumbtacked into our trees!) would increase the footfall as it was a bit slow.
What about bigger temporary signs just up for while the market is actually on at some of the busier places, say tied to the railings of Duckets Common by Turnpike Lane, or Green Lanes/St Anns junction? I suppose its probably not allowed but maybe no one would say anything if they were just there for a few hours a week.
Whether it's allowed or not, there are many exceptions to the rule - take the Crouch End Project sign in the middle of Crouch End - it's been there for many many months. It would be disappointing if the Council allow that but target Jessica's signs.
Thanks for your response, Jessica. I'd be happy to display a poster (especially if would mean removing the thumbtacks from the trees) -- would any of the local businesses be up for it as well? There are often signs for singers/events up in the shop windows on green lanes...
Hi Jessica
Will Maximus be returning?
David
Thanks Jessica
I did worry that Maximus were just not selling enough - if I know that Channel Fish are going to be there I will do my best to get there and buy!
I was saddened to see an advertisment for Harringay Market fly-posted at the Arena. Could we please not do this? Please ?
Please could you send me a poster Jessica - happy to put im my window.
I just printed a few. I'll display them in my front window.
