Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

recycling feather pillows

I see there was a discussion in July about recycling old duvets and pillows,it seems Haringey wont take them for recycling.

I have 6 old feather pillows that i want to put out, but it seems wrong to put them in the bin.

Does anyone have any other suggestions please?

i'm sure the feathers and the cotton would make good compost. do you or a friend have a compost bin?

I put a vast quantity of feathers into my compost bin in March. It seems to have been completely broken down and is supposed to be high in nitrogen. The picture shows the scene the following morning after wildlife had dragged some feathers out between the bars. I had to line the thing with chicken wire which solved the problem.

I should be glad to take your pillows for this kind of recycling.
