The Independent yesterday carried the following story:
An investigation has been launched following an allegation of rape said to have taken place in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Police were called a pathway which runs between Upper Tollington Park and Stapleton Hall Road, in Stroud Green, shortly after 12:30am on Sunday September 2.
Police say the victim, a 29-year-old woman, is receiving specialist support from officers.
Detectives say they are looking to talk to man, about five ft five inches tall of south European appearance wearing dark clothing, in relation to the incident.
No arrests have been made and extra police patrols will continue to take place in the area as detectives continue to investigate.
Police are calling on anyone with any information which may help with their enquires to get in contact.

That's awful. Does anyone know if the 'pathway' is the Parkland Walk? I don't know of any other pathway between those two streets.
Thanks for posting, Hugh.
My boyfriend tried to run down Parkland Walk yesterday morning and there was a police cordon up - so I assume it was Parkland Walk.
Though it is obviously true that women should be able to walk wherever and whenever they please with out fear of such a terrible crime against them, anyone, male or femaie, who uses the Parkland Walk at night is extremely ill-advised. Those of us who have lived near it will recall the frequent arrival of the police helicopter over it, shining its spotlight, and the stories over the years of how it has been used as a base for break-ins and assaults in Lancaster and Florence Roads.
