I've been told that planning permission has now been granted for three more Turkish restaurants on Green Lanes to expand to double shop premises.
These are:
I have also been told that Antepliler is planning to go triple soon! (They'll be moving their Baklava Salonu up to the front part of the CG Gas then combing the current three premises into one).

well I think its fab, we live in a turkish area where people travel from all over london for good turkish food, and its all about demand- I go to selale all the time and its always rammed, so why not make it bigger
I can understand not wanting to be woken by people coming out late drunk, but much more likely to happen if betting shops
and as a health proffessional, and a fussy eater, I can say its about the healthiest food you can eat( other than japanese)- the key is not to over order as you get so much extra salad bits to supplment your meal
Disagree about betting shops clientele..... they are closed in the evenings and people using them not usually using cars. and betting shop users not more likely to be drunk than those piling out the restaurants. Its the restaurant people I'm afraid. If the restaurants could be encouraged to ask their clientele to take into account local residents. But I cant see that happening.
We live in an area of London with people from all over the place living here. I dont like to describe it as a Turkish area. that is not doing justice to the local diversity and other communities.
I have to disagree Ruth - the betting shop across the road doesn't shut until 10, and it is always full of the weirdest looking people, not to mention the lot that stand outside the front. if there is yelling in the street its 9 times out of 10 coming from the people standing outside the betting shop.
I would definitely prefer another turkish restaurant to a betting shop - no question.
Point taken about some being open til 10 and having noisy people outside. The people clearly out of order and a nuisance for you. Sounds horrible.
It's probably no use comparing worse/better scenario. There are downsides to both. I am not living opposite betting shop as you do but the noise of people who have parked down my street has grown more noticeable with the onset of more and larger restaurants.
Basic incompatability between residential areas and commercial districts occupying the same space. If there were more shops down green lanes that were open 9-5, that might improve all our lives. We can but hope... all the best
