Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Not long back from the St Ann's & Harringay Area Forum.  One of the agenda items early in the evening was a brief undate on the redevelopment of the St Ann's Hospital site.*

The consultation document was supposed to be sent out to every household in the borough.  I am having residents say they know nothing about it!  It has got about 5 weeks to run but its absolutely essential that everyone has their say on this.

I am keen to know whether you have or have not received a copy of the consultation by post and which road you live on.  I certainly have not had one delivered.  It would be good to build up a picture locally so I can feed it back and make sure that everyone has a chance to have their say.

As luck would have it a consultation pack has just come through the door! Nonetheless, the information contained within is inadequate, and the plans are worrying.

Yep, same here. How weird!

Yes, funny that...

I just got one too. That's good. They've been responsive.

Hi Karen: I live on Stapleton Hall Road, Stroud Green. In the last two days, two friends who live in St Anns and in Tottenham have rung to ask me if I, who lives in Stroud Green, have received this consultation document on development on the St Ann's Hospital site. The answer is that I have not.

I have received a very similar letter from Geoffrey Ocen.  It is all incredibly disappointing and I have responded to him in the following terms but I am not sure where that leaves the consultation now.

Geoffrey
Thank you for your response on this. I have to say that this is extremely disappointing. Whilst I appreciate the efforts that are now being made to rectify the situation there is no doubt that many people will be denied the chance to have their say on this simply because they don't engage with the mediums now being used.
I would be interested to have more information on specifics of why the company who were commissioned to undertake the whole borough deliver of the consultation letter failed so badly. Whilst I understand the issue with blocks of flats and gated communities, I have had many residents who live in houses in residential streets on the Harringay Ladder, in the Gardens and geographically very close to the St Ann's Hospital site who have not received anything at all.
A lot of residents are now asking whether this will make the consultation exercise flawed!
Regards

Karen, to give the NHS their due, they do seem to be making efforts to get printed copies out now. Three of us have reported above having received them in the last few days. It could just be that they were let down by their distributor and have made efforts to correct te situation as soon as it was brought to their attention. I wonder what penalty they will demand of them for this failure?
