Local school wins PTA-UK fundraising award

Congratulations to local Parent/Staff Association Friends of South Harringay who were winners of Best PTA Fundraising achievement for last year's Greening the Playground project.

Members of the Friends were invited to HMS Belfast to attend PTA-UK 's Gold Star Awards Ceremony to collect their gong and £1,000 for South Harringay schools to add to the £500 awarded for being the regional winner earlier in the year.

Tessa Parsons, chair of Friends of South Harringay, said, "We are absolutely delighted to have won this award, we didn't know we were overall winners in our category before it was announced at the ceremony so it was a lovely surprise. It was an honour to collect the prize on behalf of our PTA. I don't take credit for the Project itself (only contributing to the application form to enter the competition!), so a huge thank you to those who made the project happen and with such imagination and success, it makes such a big difference to the playground."
