Haringey Council have just announced that they have been awarded the funds to develop a borough-wide exhibition of public art.
PARK ART will be launched on 25th July and runs until 23rd September 2012. It will run at Bruce Castle Museum & Park, Hornsey Library Sculpture Garden and the Mackenzie Pavilion in Finsbury Park
At Bruce Castle Museum and Park there will be Tottenham’s first contemporary sculpture park in Bruce Castle Park, set on the lawns outside Bruce Castle and in the Tudor Hawk Tower.
The main work will be new work by sculptor Ben Long, developed specifically for the site. He will construct a large, iconic lion which references the traditional sculpture commonly found in Castle/stately home grounds and which also relates to Bruce Castle’s own historical associations - but gives it a contemporary twist.
You can join contemporary artist Ben Long and curators of the new Park Art...in Haringey project for an informal talk at Bruce Castle Museum on 9th June.
