Does anyone know the history of what looks like an old shop on the corner of Clinton Rd and Station Crescent N15? The rest of the building appears to be in use as housing but the old shop frontage is boarded up.
I am curious to know what it was and when it was last in use? Has it functioned in anyone on heres lifetime?
I always find it sad to see any building in disrepair and this particular location also has continual fly tipping.
Here is the building in question...

In January 2008 I raised the twin issues of of dumping outside this address; with the further problem that a few motorists used the forecourt to park - driving over the pavement or a dropped kerb to do so. (Click on the photos for a bit more information.)
Suzanne, you may want to email Cllr Nilgun Canver who is both the "Cabinet" councillor for Environmental issues and one of the ward councillors. nilgun.canver@haringey.gov.uk
Thanks for your reply Alan and for your contact info.
We have lived across the road from this eyesore since 1986, it has never looked any different since that time to the present day, except when people decide to decorate by dumping rubbish there.
Mary, I can't believe that it has sat there this long and who knows how longer beyond that. Thanks for your reply.
Hi Mary
Thanks for posting this as it is something we should have taken up sooner.
I agree the shop is an eyesore. I also noticed that upstairs seems to be in use as housing which happened some time ago. I think a good place to start is contacting the Council to see if they know about the ownership of the property and to establish whether it is listed as a commercial premises. TI'll do that. It might get the process going to stop it being used as a dumping site. I'll keep you posted on progress.
