Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Does anybody know what has happened to AAG at 30 Willoughby Road N8 0JG? No answer to emails, no answer to phone calls and nobody there! I have used the venue to run courses in the past but I just can't reach them. I'm running a Life Coaching workshop this sat 21 April and need a venue in this area - anybody out there have a suggestion?

This might give you the lie of the land, John.

Hi Hugh, This isnt AAG. AAG is the Youth & Community Cntr on the junction of Sydney Road, the older peoples club you referred to is next to the CAB.

The Council does not own AAG, it was freehold purchased with GLC funding in the late 70s as part of the fight against the NF in Ducketts Common. The AAG was then known as the Asian Action Group who were believed to be the community most targetted by the NF at the time.

OK - thanks for the info.

So, I guess the AAG will be linked to the Battle of Duckett's Common, then.

So I was informed by the founders many years ago...

If anyone knows it will be Sona, the Director of the Selby Centre 0208 885 5499 - I'll do some digging too.

Other suggestions:

- West Indian Cultural Centre

- Salvation Army on Lymington Ave

- Kori Hub on Milton Road (Google Kori Arts)

- Asian Centre, Caxton Road
