Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hardly the crime of the century but a word of caution. Had my pocket dipped by a tall algerian sounding guy outside the Salisbury on friday night. Goodbye iPhone.

Ugh. Really annoying. Big sympathy. Did you have the Find My iPhone tracker activated?

I was going to say the same thing, my find my iPhone was deactivated when I upgraded to ios5 but now I check its on every time I go out. NO ONE IS TAKING MY IPHONE AGAIN!!!!! Grrrrr!

Aye, did have, yet it obviously only pings up when on wifi - which the handset never did over following days.

There are more active "phone home" apps that I'm looking at for "next time" so I'd draw peeps' attention to those.

Bloody irritating as being hit up for 50p or a cigarette was a regular and somewhat benign occurance outside the pub, resent the paranoia..

It shouldn't need wifi, I don't think. I just checked mine with the wifi turned off and it still shows up on the tracker map. But if you didn't have a passcode on, they'd probably be straight in to turn off the tracker.

I do think you may have last location showing Hugh but my point being that there are more proactive tracker apps and, more importantly, that there is maybe a bit of a pickpocket vibe on the lanes at the moment. Can only hope for iPhone 5 WWDC announcement :)

Thanks for the warning!

I feel you... I had 2 weeks without iPhone, omg hell!!

Yes, Hell has undergone many revisions, downgrades and refurbishments over the millennia. Pity we don't have a Dante to do justice to the iPhonelessOMGios5version.

"Posted using Blackberry" OAE? ;)
For once, Old Ale, I cheered your reply to the rafters (actually the Salisbury appears not to have rafters but the sentiment remains)
OMFG! I had a week of rubbish connectivity on a road trip last year. :(
Sorry you lost your iPhone but please, pretty please, use another acronym...
