Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

BBC1's new version of Great Expectations included a fabulous performance as Miss Havisham by Gillian Anderson. Harringay residents may be pleased to know to that until she was eleven years old Gillian lived in Roseberry Gardens N4 and later in Albany Road N4

You're already A-list to me Claudia!

Aww damn! I thought you were going to say she lives in Harringay now! I was dying to see her in full regalia scarring the pants off everyone at dusk ;)

Oh, I'm sure we can find other volunteers for *that*!

Hugh: re "B list celebs" in Crouch End, I know there are some now, though I remember when that area was entirely full of therapists, all the ones who couldn't afford to live in Hampstead. And re any local "A list", I can assure you that you are an A list chap as far as I am concerned, and I am sure Claudia is an A list person too <g>. As for Gillian Anderson, she and her character in The X Files, Dana Scully, will always be A list. In fact, Dana Scully is my favourite TV/film FBI agent of all time, followed closely by David Boreanaz's character from Bones. The only person you would rather have on your team in a tough spot than those two would be Warrant Officer Ripley from Alien. And if Ripley is the team leader, if you want to live, just do _exactly_ what she tells you.

There's a game for our age - which A (or B) list celebs would you have on your side in a tough spot. (And BTW, I'm stunned that you'd choose Dana Scully over Sarah Lund!)

Hugh: Yes, an interesting game; bearing in mind we're talking about the film or TV character, rather than the actor portraying them. And re Sarah Lund: remember I said "favourite FBI agent", rather than "detective". With Scully, it's a combination of intelligence, knowledge, resilience and ability to "think on her feet".
