Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

After three tries, I finally seem to have got Google's mapper to put Harringay's name on the map.

But, unfortunately, they plopped it down right where Sainsbury's is.

So, I'm now trying to get them to shift it somewhere more central.

Aaah, little things.................

Wahey! Finally, after many submissions, we're back on the map and in the right place!! (Though the Harringay place marker is still over Sainsbury's for some reason)

And we're finally fixed:

And Harringay is no longer described as being in Loughton! Yaay. I even got an email pointing me to a reply to my online question.

...and I noticed that we even show up at quite a low zoom:

I think we can safely say that we're on the map!
Mission accomplished, an important and symbolic job well done.
Yes - very well done.
Ah, I wonder how you can get them to change such things? They have most of Hornsey N8 listed as Tottenham (N15/N17). No idea why but it makes finding places very difficult. I couldn't find anywhee within Google, apart from a postal address) to report this. Can you direct me (to an email link, not Hornsey!)? Cheers
Are you looking to change data shown on the map or legend data generated next to the map. If it's the former, I've already reported Hornsey & Crouch End twice, but can let you have a link to pick up the baton. If it's the latter try the Report a Problem link here.

I'm trying, too. And I'm attempting to get the Hornsey, Crouch End Tottenham things changed. http://opinion8.ning.com/forum/topics/google-maps-crouch-end

So far I have been told "Our automated processes have determined that there is sufficient information in your report for us to examine and work the issue."

I tried with those too Adrian - even less luck than with Harringay - though I'm sure the more people push, the more likely they'll take notice.
Just got some feedback from Teleatlas from a report I made in 2009!

Well they've moved us again - west this time and the Ladder has made it on to the map. Do people actually get paid to piddle around with these maps?

The Ladder label seems to have taken on the overblown importance formerly given to Harringay and oddly shows up at a surprisingly prominent level

After a couple of years' of nudging from yours truly, and no doubt others, they've also finally added West Green and moved 'Hornsey' from the Clocktower to, well, Hornsey. Last but not least 'Crouch End' has moved from the foot of Muswell Hill to Highgate / Crouch End borders.

Now to get Harringay Green " Lines " changed to " Lanes " ? Or is that just an English pronunciation issue ?

Oh yes. Have just resubmitted that along with yet another hopeful plea to get ''Harringay" moved to the centre of the hood.
