Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Virgin Media Boxes with no doors in the Gardens Area - and further a field too.

I reported to Virgin Media about 2 weeks ago now that all the doors on their cabinets have been stolen by scrap metal merchants in the "Gardens ' area.
I have also noticed in the N15 area there have been few have been stolen too.

All it will take is a few yanks of the cables by some kids and the streets broadband and telephone services will go down

I enclose a photo from one of the Warwick Gardens cabinets.
I have called virgin again today and they say they are looking into it ( 2 weeks to start looking into it?)

If you are a virgin customer and concerned your service may go down too can you call Virgin media on 150 ( if you are a virgin customer and have a virgin phone)
just get to any department to report a fault.

The more people who flag it up with them the more chance it will get fixed

I've flagged up one on Wightman Road which is regularly vandalised on numerous occasions....the call centre operators always seem very unsure what to do and just claim that they'll take a note and pass it on but I am unconvinced that the messages reliably get through to the right people.

From Twitter:

@planet_clare : @harringayonline all the telephone box covers gone in Highgate too. #theft A dealer must be buying these knowing they're stolen.

From Zena Brabazon:

I've been noting them as I've gone round the borough and have just written to Virgin Media. Thanks - it reminded me to contact them.

I had completely forgotten until I read this post that the doors are missing off a box at the junction of Rowley Road and St Annes Road, or at least they were last week when I walked past on the way to school drop off. I'll check it tomorrow, I can't remember if it's BT or Virgin, and report if they are still missing.

So I suppose they need to use strong plastic doors instead?

On the ones in Lausanne Rd the doors are often open and there are stickers inside with 0845 numbers to call if there's anything wrong with the cabinet. I have called the number a couple of times, it's expensive and nothing is resolved.

I've seen a Virgin engineer rip the lock open once because he didn't have the key. If they would just blimmin well stay shut without the lock they wouldn't be such a problem.

The Police need to seriously think about stopping every van they see on the road in Haringey after 10pm and looking inside.

Two pavement safety bollards taken from Wightman Road.  Someone must have seen something.
To update you, today I saw the maintenance guy and had a chat with him - he was in Warwick Gardens at about 1pm
I started telling him about all the other ones but he told me that he has a job sheet and that is the list he had to work to today only, he showed it to me
There were about 30-40 jobs on the sheet for him today from N1- N4- N8
He started this morning a the Arsenal football ground - he said that someone has tageted North Londons virgin cabinet doors
The doors that he is replacing, have a more robust key , so fingers crossed eh.

In the mean time can I suggest that if anyone sees a missing door please report it to the e-mail address below asap to;

cabinet.plant@virginmedia.co.uk
Could it have been this silly billy ?
