I noticed Threshers on Green Lanes has shut. AARGHHHHH! Does anyone know why? They always has such great offers, and a brilliant selection as well as staff with great knowledge. Great shame.

Thank you for that Julie - That's a little snippet of our recent local history that is completely new to me. Ive checked the Majestic Website and see that the sods have the cheek to call it Wood Green - see if we can't get that changed.

On the subject of booze does anyone know about the Oakdale pub on Hermitage Road? Great beers in there and they usually have one or two real ale festivals on there a year.
I phoned up last week and the gaffer said there was one planned for June or July.

The Oakdale is a real throwback of a pub and worth a visit. The beer's very good indeed. It has great potential but is in need of a bit of TLC. We like it because they welcome our dog (though they weren't so keen on our fourteen year old son and made us sit outside!)

why don't we try and organise a meet for the people on here in the Oakdale? Would be nice to meet people! We should probably do he Garden Ladder though, support our nearest etc. Anyone up for it?
