Hmm, let me see. Democracy is good, sign me up.
Oh, hang on. There's no indication of what I might be signing up for. What does the Campaign for Democracy stand for? What's it for? And what's it against?
A quick google turns up http://campaignfordemocracy.org.uk/. Hmm, that's all about Wales. Luckily I'm neither Welsh nor living in Wales, so can I go back to sleep now?

Well, that's not much better. A couple of mentions on a Green party blog. Clearly a campaign that's fully harnessing the power of Facebook and Twitter to achieve change, just as we have seen across the Middle East.
It's 2011 and there's a campaign running which has no web presence whatsoever. No twitter. No Facebook. Doesn't even post on HoL. If I cared about democracy, why would I want to join a campaigning group that's chopped off its own leg and is now trying to win an arse kicking contest?

Don't quite see the relevance of paras 1 and 2. And Switzerland gave the vote to women only in 1971. A bit late in the democratic stakes ?

Me neither, never did. We had 1 & 2 Paras for years in South Armagh. Not universally popular in our democratic stakes, as I recall. The 45 Commando displayed a certain democratic deficit too. The Scottish Borderers, Green Howards and Welch Fusiliers might get an invite back in a century or five.
