Local resident Martin Ridley has recently set up a campaign to control the 'dangerous speeds' of coaches driving within Finsbury Park.
"The Police are not enforcing the speed limits", said Martin "and when a couple of my friends complained they said talk to Arsenal club. They decided to hold a demo blocking the road in the park, and after being threatened with arrest because the Police said they were making fools of them, the Police finally started to slow the coaches."
Martin fears that it will take the death of a child or a pet before a stop is put to the practice of allowing coaches to drive in the park.
"The public expect to be able to take children to play or walk pets in safety. There must be somewhere we can be free from the danger of traffic."
Martin has started a facebook group to campaign to stop this and invites you to join.

Did Arsenal not do a traffic impact assessment when it had planning permission granted on Emirates? Was Finsbury Park accepted as a car park in this assessment?
I was in Finsbury 2 weeks ago and saw it starting to fill up with coaches from Leeds- this is the first time I have seen it to be honest. How long has the park been used as a car park?
I am slightly in two minds about how I feel about this- I guess, as long as it is properly regulated (speed etc) and the coaches/ arsenal make good any damage and *pay*an appropriate amount for the privilege of parking (as we do if we take our cars up there) I guess it is one way we can make sure a contribution to on-going running costs is made in these times of cuts.
They have been using FP for years even when they were at Highbury, I understand there's been a 30% increase in capacity since moving. It also makes common sense in a public control sense.
