Gardeners ! St Ann's Library Needs You!
A small group of St Ann's residents were given a MTD grant to develop the garden at St Ann's Library and more resident involvement is required. The project is aimed at the 50+ age group in line with the Haringey Priority Themes under health.
The St Ann's Library garden is fairly well developed and has quite a lot pf plants, herbs and shrubs (it's not a vegetable garden) which means there is a basis to start from. It was developed as a part community garden by The Bridge NDC but hasn't been worked properly for some time. This project has been given most of the garden; a smaller part is reserved for a children's project.
The urgent need is for people who can assist with digging over the ground and last minute bulb planting. Specifically though the project needs people prepared to maintain the garden longer term and someone prepared to co-ordinate and liaising with the library. Carol is fulfilling this role at the moment since the person who put in the MTD application is unwell but she is not sure how much time she will have to spare this year.
The library manager is keen to have the garden developed so that people can sit outside in the warmer weather and there is a terrace.
Anyone interested can phone Carol on 020 8809 3226 or leave his/her name at St Ann's Library. People can go and look at the garden during the library opening hours: 9 to 7 Mon to Fri, 9 to 5 on Saturday.

Just to add that the part reserved for the children's development will be done by Ludotek's OK Club - an older kids club for 5-13 year olds which takes place at the library every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. Just one of the many activities the OK Club are involved in. See calendar for details or pm me for more information.

Just to add to Bushy's comment re Ludotek's OK club, I've just received this, via email
Yhasmin who runs the OK Club- details at bottom from their website: http://www.freetocharities.org.uk/ludotek/ has £500 for food growing at the back of St Anns Library where they run their sessions. She needs expertise from growers on what to grow, where and how as well as what other hardware might need to be bought.
