ANOTHER attempted break-in on burgoyne road today
HELLO ALL.
MY FRIEND JUST CALLED ME, TO SAY, THAT HE CAME HOME TO FIND THAT SOMEONE HAD TRIED TO BREAK INTO HIS HOUSE ON BURGOYNE ROAD.
THEY DID NOT GET IN, BUT DAMAGED THE DOOR, THIS WAS BECAUSE THE CHUBB LOCK WAS ON, MAKE SURE YOU ALL DOUBLE LOCK YOUR DOORS AND KEEP AN EYE OUT.

Hello. I got home last night to the same thing (I'm also on Burgoyne)
They made a right mess of the door- but thankfully they didn't manage to get in.

Hi jono. Reported it last night and had a couple of constables round at around midnight. Today I had a visit from Lisa, one of the safer neighbourhood officers.
I have a CAD number too..

Hi Simon, really sorry to hear that. I live nearby and may have seen something suspicious during the weekend...with hindsight - not totally sure but just in case (if I had been sure I would have called the police clearly). Get yourself a london bar. They cost very little and you can fit them yourselves. They fit around the lock and down most of the door frame.

We're getting a new door too! It was all double locked so they obviously just gave up. Will look at london bars .. Thanks for the advice!

Thanks for letting us know.I am on Burgoyne too. I assume both of these attempts happened during the daytime?
Maybe we should get a london bar.....anyone know how much it would cost to fit? Would be easier to approach the landlord with a price, I think.

They cost about £18 from Ironmongery Direct + £5.95 delivery. Just measure your yale lock to make sure you are buying the correct london bar as it fits around that as well.
You can fit it yourself by simply screwing it into the frame. Pop down to Homebase for some wood screws and a screwdriver (if you don't have one).
If you're going down the landlord route depends how responsive she or he is.

stapleton hall road was burgled yesterday at 3pm, they tried to break through the glass by the latch but fortunately the door was chubb locked. thought i would let you know about this incident
