that was apparently shot in the jazz club in the Fishermans Arms in Wood Green. I saw it today in a tenants hall in Nunhead. (small world!). The guy who showed it, from Dulwich Paradiso Cinema wondered where the pub was. Anyone know?

There was a Fishmongers Arms near the Civic Centre that is now a Safer Neighbourhoods base Anne
That is where it was filmed. There's a timber yard out the back now and that's where the club used to be (my dad used to go there!)
This is an excellent film - well worth the investment of 20 odd minutes...especially the bit towards the end when all the posh kids from Muswell Hill turn up at the Jazz Club!

The Fishmongers Arms adjacent to the Civic Centre in Wood Green has a long history as a music venue. The large hall at the back of the pub has now gone - to be replaced by new small houses - but in its prime it hosted concerts by Cream, Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd and the Rolling Stones....there's a few names for the teenagers eh?

Although the "Momma Don't Allow" film is only available to view via registered Library and University sites this little gem (below) was filmed a few years later in the Wood Green Jazz club and features Enfield Boy Brian Ling Aged Eight(!) Playing The Clarinet with The "Freddy Randall Band".
