Sounds very worthwhile and important research. There has been a lot of discussion on HoL about the elderly in our community and I'm sure there are some links here with what you are planning to investigate. Wish you well and will be interested to see how things develop

I'd be interested to hear more about what you are thinking of doing. I have current experience of supporting my mum through the maze of local services. So would be keen to talk.

Hi there
If you are interested, there are 2 upcoming public meetings about neighbourliness in Harringay and this of course includes elderly people and their care. I have put up a blog about meetings on HoL but FYI here, one is day time at the Cyprus Kitchen , Green Lanes, Oct 28th 11.- 12.30. The same meeting will be run again at Stroud Green Library on Tues Nov 2nd 7.- 8.30. Contact me if you want further details plus if you think you can attend. Please spread the word! the more peopl we get along the better we help elderly people and get them in touch with younger ones and promote a better sense of community and real care in the community.
