First swifts spotted over Harringay
Just spotted a couple of swifts tearing about over South Harringay School. Needless to say, it was a moment of pure joy to see them returned for another year.

Yet to hear/see the swifts, but was prompted by you to look out of the window and bingo!
I saw a spotted woodpecker. Indifferent light, couldn't see a red patch on the head but never mind. First time for well over a decade I'd say.
There was a persistent call from the neighbouring apple tree so that might have been a mate (though I don't have Merlin and so have no idea).
