You can write to the insurance team at Haringey Council and request a claim form - insurance@haringey.gov.uk
If enough people do this and persist then they might start doing something about it.

Do you ever report potholes? I often use fixmystreet or LoveCleanStreets to report potholes, with varying success but at least I've made sure the council knows about it. I don't have a car but I sometimes cycle, so I'm more concerned about damage to myself. And it can be particularly dangerous if I swerve around a pothole at the precise moment sometime in a car decides to close pass me.
The main reason for increased rate of pot-holes in London is that so many rich Yuppies drive around in huge, heavy, SUVs, as if they were in the Himalayas and not a leading world city. Ban the SUVs, and local councils could keep up with mending pot-holes. When petrol-heads write in to dispute this, first tell us if you have an SUV in your household. Ye shall know them by their fruits.
I do get really annoyed by all of the damage I see to roads and pavements and I think "it's my council tax that has to pay for this". Lots of cars and vans park on the pavement outside my flat. They killed the tree I paid £200 to have planted there.
SUVs take up so much space, owners should have to pay a lot more for parking and the money should go towards fixing the roads.
Sarah - I stopped driving years ago (too old, reaction time slowdown, would have made me a danger to other road users) and we have not owned a car for 30 years. I agree that motorists, especially lorry/van drivers, and people with massive SUVs, park on pavements and casually damage trees. I am very sorry to hear these vandals killed a tree you paid for. If we all want a habitable, green, clean air environment, we need to limit all motor vehicles, especially private motor cars; and all walk more, use bicycles, and use public transport.
Some *one in a car, I wrote this on my phone early in the morning!
Yes, I do indeed. I report them on the 'report a problem page' of the Council's website.
It would be interesting to know how often the council actually pays out to compensate drivers (and cyclists) for the damage caused. And yes Alan/Clive I do know that I could raise an FOI request...
