ON Wightman Road, at the intersection with Railway Approach N4, a water leak has been going on continuously at least for several days.
It spills onto the carriageway but mainly over the light-controlled pedestrian crossing.
As well as a hazard, it is a continuing waste of water.
But does Thames Water Limited* care?
This afternoon I spotted a woman taking photos of the leak and asked if she was reporting it to the council.
She claimed that it has been going on for weeks and that she has already contacted Thames Water. She also claimed that Thames Water told her there was nothing they could do, because of the traffic
(N.B. the Highwaymen and other actors at the council have always wanted to maintain this as a B-through road).
The woman said she was now going to complain to The Regulator. As most know, Ofwat is toothless, hopeless and useless and has been content to be toothless for decades.
Is this "enterprise" not years overdue for re-nationalisation?

*I note that Companies House records this enterprise as having had 167 Officers and 165 Resignations, leaving a current balance of two.

On Thames Water's 'Report a problem' map - https://www.thameswater.co.uk/help/report-a-problem#/view-problems-map - there are eight reports of this leak. One is dated 22 Feb, and says 'Status: repair planning ( ref 01548907)'.
The leak was first seen (and reported) at the turn of the year, and in the very cold spell then the water had frozen across the width of the road. Something was done then to reduce the flow, though it didn't stop altogether, but in the last fortnight it's back to how it was more than two months ago.
Traffic?? The inspection hatch from where it flows is on the pavement!
Thanks Gordon; if traffic was Thames' excuse for the delay in repairs, then it sounds feeble.
Perhaps it's another example of big corporations (like Haringey Council) favouring traffic over pedestrians who, like me, are currently placed at risk on the crossing.
If Thames were obliged to erect barriers and controlling lights—that would interfere with the council's precious traffic—then it would not be the first time that the company had made such an arrangement.
If this wretched outfit had distributed fewer dividends and put more into repairs (and fewer dirty discharges), over decades, then we might not have such a repair backlog.
The Labour Government should re-nationalise it.
Thanks for posting Clive.
I'll chase with Highways to see if they have been in contact with Thames Water and will contact Thames Water myself. I'll report back on this thread.

Water leak Wightman Rd: Thames Water contractors on site Wed 11 March.
Neighbours were mentioning this back in February so it goes back to at least then. It's such a criminal waste of water. It's like a fast-flowing river
THIS evening, that water still flows, but finally Thames Water Ltd. have made a start.
I note that all the road works including the big hole are contained within Railway Approach. Around 6 PM the fossil-fuelled traffic was bumper-to-bumper and moving at a crawl, but none of their slow progress is down to the water company's repairs.
