Dead fox in New River at Hampden Road - who to report to?
It's been two weeks since we first spotted the dead fox in the river on the stretch between Hampden Road and Wightman Road. I reported it to Thames Water but they have been utterly useless and don't care. The carcass is now bloated and decaying – if not Thames Water, who else might have the responsibility for fishing it out?

I can recommend Veolia to collect the dead fox. However since it is in the water maybe not easy to retrieve? (Easier if dead fox is placed in a box or plastic container for collection, maybe environmental agency can do this ?) You can email Roz Belghrous at Veolia who is very helpful. Dead foxes in the river usually float down to the screen and are fished out by the automatic flotsam grab.

That's what we expected would happen, but it seems to be caught on the river bed and the current in that stretch of the river isn't strong. If it hasn't budged in almost three weeks – apart from partially floating to the surface – then I can't see it moving now.

If you haven't already done so then contact Veolia Haringey. One morning a few years ago we found a dead fox in our garden and contacted Veolia. They wouldn't come through our property but asked us to bag the fox and then leave it out the front and they would collect, which they did.
