Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

A new bus route, numbered 310, starts on August 31st, running from Golders Green Station to Stamford Hill Broadway. It follows the 210 from Golders to Finsbury Park then follows the 253/4 to Stamford Hill. It will run daily from about 0700 to 1900, every 20 minutes. Of necessity, the buses wil be single-deck due to the low bridge in Stroud Green Road- its the first bus route to go under that bridge since about 1982. Route 91 is also due to be extended from Crouch End to Wood Green via the Haringey Heartlands development later this year, but no date confirmed yet.

And in other bus news, the W5 route is now served by new all-electric vehicles.

Instead of slavishly following the 210 the 310 might open new travel opportunities if it went via the Nags Head. It could then be a double decker.

Posters on bus stops now say that the 310 starts on Sunday 1st September...

Thank you Jeremy.

I'll be in North Yorkshire on the day, so not a first day rider. Were I to try to use the N Yorks local bus service where we're staying (15 miles north of York) I'd have to be a school ("permits only") student. Nothing else, not even a once a week shoppers' special. Dear me.

New bus route 310 - blog post by Diamond Geezer, with explanation of rationale. Very good.

Ha, I just came to post the same!

Do we know yet when the 91 route will change to/from Wood Green? I thought it was due in March 2025.

There's no sign of a date yet for changes to the 91 bus route in http://www.londonbusroutes.net/changes.htm which is a well-regarded source and includes changes out to Feb 2026.

Pages 4-7 of this report from Haringey give details of new bus stop locations, changes to parking and yellow lines and so on. I used Mary Neuner Road and Western Road three weeks ago and did not notice any construction work of that kind.

Also in the pipeline is the remodelling of the Tottenham Lane/Ferme Park Road junction to eliminate the roundabout and replace it with traffic lights. When this happens the 91 will no longer be able to turn there.

Oh that makes sense but that adds at least another six months when I thought the ambition for the extended route was first half of 2025! Thanks for the update! Useful to know.
