Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hyperoptic are available for broadband installs on the ladder now. Has anyone been through the install process? Interested to know your experience, including sales, install & use of their broadband.

Thanks

They have just confirmed that they can’t provide service to me on Duckett Rd

This is good to know. As I'm thinking of joining as do fed up with sky and their rubbish signal

We just started with Hyperoptic on Raleigh Road after getting fed up with patchy BT broadband that cost substantially more for a much slower service. The connection processes ended up being a nightmare, taking a month longer, and several civil works and engineer visits more, than it should have done. We're finally up and running though and the range extender has also just arrived as we signed up for the Total package (equivalent to what we had with BT, but at much lower cost). If the service delivers, and so far it seems to be doing so, I will forgive them the tortured connection and activation. Probably too early for me to recommend, in all honesty. I very much want it to work out as I am not keen on any of the alternatives. Their customer service seems mostly to be in Serbia, and while their ability to solve problems and bypass "computer says no" problems is limited, they have been available, professional and helpful.

In my case, the install process was extremely poor, because of constant mix ups, but I was automatically compensated for these, in line with Ofcom’s Automatic Compensation Scheme . Customer service is located in Eastern Europe.

On a completely new fibre to the home (FTTH) network, installed over the past couple of years, the symmetrical broadband and phone service has been absolutely faultless - a far cry from the constant and lengthy outages with Virgin Media before (last year I was told by a Virgin engineer that it’s fibre network in the area is very old, hence all the faults on The Ladder).

A big selling point is that it’s a symmetric service, which given lots of us work from home, upload files / videos, engage in   gaming etc is a big advantage over asymmetric services, which emphasise only download speeds.

As well, my service of phone + 150 mbits/s upstream + downstream broadband is only £19.99 per month.

New network + symmetric speed + phone line + zero outages + great price point = a complete no-brainer to switch from legacy suppliers like Virgin, Vodafone, etc.

Hyperoptic does provide users like myself with a link that would give new users £50 off if they sign up. That would bring the monthly cost on a 24 month phone + broadband contract down to £17.90. So, an even better no-brainer.

You can contact me by PM for the link.
