Dear all,
On 31st October at 18:30, we will be holding an online meeting for Harringay residents with Cllr Emily Arkell (Haringey Council Cabinet Member for Culture, Communities and Leisure) to listen to resident feedback on the events held in Finsbury Park over the Summer.
To focus the meeting on Harringay-specific issues, this meeting is only for Harringay ward residents.
If you would like to attend the meeting, could you kindly send me an email on anna.abela@haringey.gov.uk so that I can send you the video link?
Kind regards,
Cllr Anna Abela

How odd.
Given that the entirety of Finsbury Park falls within Harringay Ward, any issues relating to events in the park are by definition 'Harringay-specific'.
What I think you mean is that the meeting will focus on issues raised by those who can vote for or against you.
More trick than treat, Anna? Either way, I hope the meeting is well attended, and that the Cabinet member finds it useful. Can't be easy finding out what residents think about the events. It's rarely discussed.
Thanks for posting Anna. I wonder if it might be worth opening up the meeting to all parts of Harringay, rather than just one if its wards? Unfortunately, unlike Harringay Ward, both of the other two wards that cover part of Harringay also cover parts of South Tottenham, but about two-thirds of them are Harringay and some parts of them are closer to the park than the north of the Ladder. Might it be worth just opening the meeting up to St Ann's and Hermitage wards?
Thank you for suggesting this Hugh. I'm in St Ann's ward and we had to shut our windows a lot during the summer weekends due to noise, so as a Harringay (but not Harringay ward) resident I would be very interested in the council's plans for Finsbury Park next year.
Curious. It is less than a month since the Friends of Finsbury Park held a packed meeting which was attended by both Councillor Arkell and by Councillor Brabazon.
Harringay ward residents only constitute a small number of the park users and people affected by the events - what about all the Hackney and Islington residents and Stroud Green ward residents?
I'm sure the fact that Harringay Ward is susceptible to the Lib Dems whilst St Anns and Hermitage are entrenched Labour/apathetic has not influenced the invitation list.
But at least Anna is making an effort. I can't imagine the powers that be in Haringey Labour are too pleased about there being a semblance of democracy on their patch.
Unbelievable. We're in Hermitage and Gardens. Way WAY closer to the Park than the North End of the Ladder.. Our CPZ seems close enough when the council wants to impose parking restriction for events in Finsbury Park....and we always get the noise, bad enough to close windows last Summer.
But no say in anything? Seems like nonsense to me.
