Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Urgently need an electrician reliable and reasonably priced - sparking fizzing noises and smell of burning electrics!!
Help!! can someone else please urgently recommend a reliable dependable and not overly expensive electrician - smell of burning electrics in my kitchen a while ago and crackling sounds coming I think from the under-cupboard lights installed about a decade ago - I've turned off the kitchen ring and disconnected the under-cupboard light (which was not on) which seems to be the main suspect (crackly noise stopped now and can't smell the burning) but this is a bit scarey... I can't leave the kitchen ring off because of fridge/freezer and kettles etc.
Tried Efrem's number - which is recommended all over HoL but no answer at all not even to voicemail - any urgent suggestions please??

Try Peter Hay. He’s a great electrician and a real gent. He did work for us a number of times and we were so pleased with the results and fee.

Thanks so much I've spent the last couple of hours chasing up numbers from various friends with no joy/no answer etc - not sure if tried Peter yet but will call in the morning as the circuit has gone bang completely now so leaving it off as reset it and the same thing happened - at least power in some other rooms although a number of sockets not working but obviously need it checked and fixed urgently - luckily still got heating and a gas cooker to boil water/eat! thanks for the recommendation

Hi again unfortunately Peter is away until next week so couldn't help but I've just eventually this morning found someone who can come later this afternoon so fingers crossed will be sorted out ok! thanks for the help and recommendation

I hope you found someone! If not, I have used Theo (found via HOL) who came round quickly to deal with an urgent problem.

Hi Abby thanks so much for this I have eventually found someone through a friend of a friend of a relative who is coming late afternoon to look (got through to him this morning) but if any problems/cancellations etc will phone Theo- it's astounding how busy electricians are (as tried about 6 in total) - I'm in the wrong job(!) thanks so much for the recommendation.
