Oh dear! Seems I broke the rules in 1987 when I went to vote taking Rachel (then age seven). Answering her questions about voting, I showed her the ballot paper and where to make the X for Bernie Grant. She even put the paper in the ballot box.
By coincidence, Hugh, when you took this photo I was listening intently to LibDem Liz Hutchinson. She told me about an Electoral Commission initiative in Scotland - involving schools and election staff - which aimed at getting children to bring their families to vote.

I am very suprised that folk here could not find/make the time here tonight to be a part of political history as it happens. A common complaint on this site is often about peoples political apathy. I'm sure i'll be attacked by some here for observing this point. I've had a very exciting evening but i missed having a jolly old political ding dong debate with HOL denizens.
