I notice that a rough sleeper has recently dossed down very near the top of the New River Path where it emerges onto Wightman Road. She seems to be over 18 and not in obvious danger so I have alerted StreetLink and hope that help will be offered. This particular spot has recently been used after dark for social transactions which involve muttered conversations and tobacco smoke.
Here is a shot of her makeshift home.
During the hot spell there were other sleepers further down the Path but they seem to have moved on - possible after Thames Water disposed of what looked like abandoned bedding.

I met a Thames Water staffer on the path a month or so back. He asked me if I'd seen rough sleepers. He was looking to serve notice on them.
There was another in a tent near the Hampden Road end. Not sure if that's still there.
That one has gone Hugh. Thames Water dismantled the tent and have put up warning notices. I feel rather sad about it since the woman camper concerned was tidy and caused no trouble.
Well at least that's two things Thames Water are good at, stopping the homeless sleeping near water, and pumping sewage into the Thames.
