 Lovely male Woody, wish they'd land on my feeder. Amazing how Parakeets have spread since the first group escaped from Robert Plant's aviary in Ealing back in the day. [That is true, isn't it?!]

I remember a large flock of parakeets in Woodford near the border of Epping Forest. That was in the late 60's early 70's.

The myth goes that the birds were brought into sheperton studio during the filming of 'african queen' (1951) for 'jungle sound effects' with audrey hepburn and bogey. after filming the birds were simply released. that's why they say the original colony is still in that vacinity.
