Dan James Construction feedback needed URGENTLY!

Long story, but would anyone who has used Dan James for their loft conversion relatively recently be willing to have a chat with me about them ASAP, i.e. in the next day or so?

I've read all the reviews on here for them, but there's nothing like having a conversation with someone to really find out the nitty gritty.

Jamie rarely replies to any message - text, email or voicemail. I think he is facing a tough situation. Our loft is halfway there, still no roofing, no windows and no tiling. When it rains it leaks. Yet they haven't come to work for 5 weeks.

Hi all, new to this forum but we have been using Dan James for our loft conversion plus original flat renovation since end of January 2023 and it has been lots of up and downs. I agree with Josephine and Pete that the initiation stage has been very quick but everything then slows down to the point there is no response at all. Apparently the latest new is that Dan has left the company suddenly since the end of September 2023 ( you can see his termination as a director from the Company House website ) so now it is all down to Jamie, who is unreachable. Fortunately or unfortunately ( depends on how you see it ) we are in our 'final' stage of the project and we may have a handful of carpenter and electrician ( all through Dan James) to finish of few jobs. Overall experience? I would give Dan James 5 out of 10. Will I use them again? No.

Hi William, I have had a similar experience- 15 months into a loft conversion and nowhere near finished. The roof is not watertight and the roofers are unreachable - I am just wondering if they finished yours?

Lucky for us, our roof is done and so far water-tight 🤞🏻, however our staircase needs to be refitted and the scaffolding at the back of the house needs to come down. Then today we receive an email from Jamie saying all current works well be suspended until further notice due to 'reorganisation' so I don't know what exactly does he means by that...
