The re-development of the park is progressing well. Lots more play equipment and furniture has gone in this week since taking the photos that are shown in the post linked above.

That's the thing with benches, they're rarely comfortable. I think they'll be fine.
Speaking tube thingys are great aren't they. The kids love them. Glad they've been included.

Does anyone know what is happening to the football pitch?
It looks in a bad state at the moment. Will it be getting a new surface? Hopefully one that doesn't tear the skin off children's' knees when they fall on it.

It is getting resurfaced, but I think it'll be tarmacked again, maybe Matt can confirm this. I went around on Friday and it does look brilliant.

Yes pretty sure it's getting tarmac again rather than any other type of surface. Current work is more about providing improved drain away. Went up there this morning and spoke to the works manager and had a look around. Lots of new planting going on. It's looking good. Looking forward to seeing the dare devils among you trying to use that skateboard (thingy) play equipment!
