The students who live in the house next door to me spent two days constructing a 20ft Mongolian yurt (tent) in their garden and now spend most evenings chanting and drumming (I kid you not) around a well-stoked wood burner. This is clearly not just a temporary thing either, they've run electricity out to it, and even planted flowers in pots at the entrance!
I'd like to think I'm pretty easy going and "hippy-tolerant", but it does strike me as a bit of an imposition on one's neighbours, particularly as we we don't even have a real fence between our garden and theirs. They're actually quite nice young people, considerably better than some of previous years' students, but it's only March and the thought of having a Cherokee style encampment all through the summer fills me with some trepidation to say the least.
Any thoughts/comments anyone.......?
