Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

A polite request.

According to the RSPB, cats are responsible for killing around 27 million birds in the UK each year. This is on top of the other animal groups (eg amphibians). Cats are really good at killing!

Most of the cat owners I know would say they love nature and animals, so this request is: please please please, if you must let your cat out, put a bell on its collar at least.

This time of year, it is even more important. Give nature a helping hand.

Thank you

Years ago a kitten adopted me, owners moved away and left car in garden

Also had its mother for a while but got fed up with it and left it with us

Was a real pain chasing birds up trees

Got cured when Fox in church chased him up a tree. Took several hours to get him down. But did stop him chasing birds in trees

So used to sit by window, which was closed , climbing curtains and nets trying to get them

But got knock down as had a habit of sitting in the road .  Plus cried to go out back. Then minutes later sitting on front room window sill to come or crying on front for step

Please don't put a bell on your cat.

It's cruel. Think about it.

How would you like to hear a bell ring every time you move?

From an ethical standpoint. It's just cruel.

However, I do agree with you that the numbers of cats in this country is out of balance with nature and wildlife. I just don't think punishing an animal for behaving naturally, is the answer.

Maybe some one has a better answer?

Ask Philip to dispatch them.

Not sure why you think it’s cruel. Yes it’s a minor annoyance fir them, until they used to it. Always have bells on my cats, and if either of them caught birds, then I would put two on
