As we flagged up recently, there's been a planing application for a social club on Chesterfield Gardens recently. Here's a message about it from one of the local resident watchdogs:
This social club has been functioning without planning permission for some months and, despite the address of 33b Grand Parade, it is actually located entirely in Chesterfield Gardens, next to and opposite residential properties. In fact, vulnerable adults live in adjacent flats managed by the St George's Supported Living for Mental Health.
Apart from the historic problems associated with social clubs in Green Lanes itself, it seems to me entirely inappropriate for such a venue to be located on a residential street - an unwelcome precedent for any Gardens or Ladder road.
I will be opposing this application on behalf of the LCSP. Objections should be sent to Elizabeth Ennin-Gyasi at LBH Planning, quoting ref HGY/2010/0196. Please let me know if you want any more information on the case.

This application was rejected by Haringey Council.
However, the applicants have appealed to the Planning Inspector. Many thanks to Andy Newman at the Gardens Residents' Association for highlighting this.
Attached is Andy's letter of objection to the appeal. This will give you some sense of legitimate grounds to object, should you want to do so.
Objections can be made online. You can either take the shortcut and go straight to the comments section for this case.
