I'm a collection point for Care for Calais which helps refugees survive in northern France. I have a mountain of donations. C4C simply cannot ship donations due to current conditions and have told us to give them away if we can. i have lots of outdoor coats, and lots of shoes and even kids clothes, in fact typical charity shop stuff. I can gift hoodies and trainers but not the rest. Charity shops are not open, though they will be in time. Any ideas where I can donate?

If you have things tha5 might be useful to a homeless young person, Centrepoint are accepting donations at a drop off point

Thanks for this link, as I have some things awaiting charity shops re-opening. However, the website makes it very clear they can only accept clothing (and other items) that are new
"because Centrepoint want all young people to know that they are valued and for the gifts that they receive from our supporters to help them grow in confidence and their sense of self-worth."
My point was that they do not want second-hand, which is what I assume from Philip's post.
Finsbury Park tolo would love any coat donations I’m sure - here’s what they are doing:
Thanks for that. Unfortunately this is not operating just now. The charity shops won't open till 15th June...when they will be inundated!
Ahhh apologies didn't realise they'd finished! I used these guys in the last lockdown too: https://www.icollectclothes.co.uk/
Western Road Depo is Open, they have a Container where clothing can be donated to Salvation Army
Hi there,
I used this new service from the British Red Cross a few weeks ago and it was very straightforward. You don't even need a printer as you can download the postage labels as a barcode and bring them to any CollectPlus outlet.
They can only send 2 donation bags at a time so it may not be useful if you have a huge amount of stuff but thought i would share anyway:
Thank you, that does look like an option. Pick-up point at my corner shop!
How about selling some of the better items then donating the funds to the cause? It’s really easy to do on Vinted app. I recently made over £200 on stuff from my wardrobe that I no longer wear. Buyer pays for the postage,You get sent a label then you just drop it off at Hermes collection point or post office. It’s really easy to upload items and add photos from the phone app. When people “like” your items you can offer them at a discount and I found this always resulted in a successful sale. Definitely going to do more of this.
