Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

The larger of the speed camera markings are 1 metre apart so this pothole/crater is 1.5 metres long. Spotted on Tottenham High Road this morning.

Is this the prep digging for a new 'middle of the road flower bed' intiaitive? or an Evening Standard sponsored scheme to do away with cyclists?
It's big, but not the biggest in Haringey. Although I haven't measured it, I think it might be pipped by the pothole next to the 134/43 bus stop on the southbound side of Muswell Hill Broadway. This interesting bit of topography has waxed and waned over the years, but has never been repaired properly enough so that it has ever completely gone away. About five years ago when it was roughly half its present size, my bike did a somersault into it. I followed suit and lived to tell the tale only because of the foresight of our Caring Council. Since they had the good sense to situate this elephant pit just before a bus stop, the double-decker I sprawled in front of was slowing down and got to stop in time.
We seem to have several different pothole discussions erupting all over HoL. Would it be helpful if the site admins filled-in a few? Perhaps leaving just one huge eye-popping thread?
