Hi
Umfreville Road is being resurfaced, which is very nice.
It looks like 2 speed humps are marked to be reinstated - at the lower end of the road.
There are no markings for speed bumps to be put in between the road narrowing point and Wightman Road.
I spoke to the contractor Malborough and they said that they do a like for like. Any speed bump there before the work started will get replaced.
They also said all the markings for speed bumps have been done.
So, unless I am getting excited over nothing, only two speed bumps are going back in.
I recall there were more...
Anyone got any firmer recollections or photos? Maybe google street view is an option...
Gonna get onto the Council anyway.
Cheers
Jeremy

The contractor's spray paint markings are on the kerb where the one further up the hill used to be, but as you say, it hasn't been reinstated.
ah - I hadn't noticed that. They are scheduled to be here until the 13th so maybe putting them back in will follow on.
Asking the workmen tomorrow is probably a good starting point...
when they did Hewitt a few years ago, there was a period of about 2 weeks where there were no speed bumps, which was absolute bliss!
unfortunately, they did put them back in, and we were soon back to the house shaking like a 7magnitude every time a skip lorry, or van hurtles down the road :-(
I was worried about them not going back in as vehicles fly up the road.
Hewitt is one way down the hill right? Oddly, I reckon traffic goes slower down hill than up.
I entirely agree with you, also the speed bumps are provoking movement of the houses and deep cracks. The houses were built at a time of very few vehicles and not really strong enough to sustain constant shaking. I’ve seen trucks hurtling at speed over the speed bumps speed bumps as if they did not exist a d the whole house shakes.
