I actually got a text from Alan a few days before the Labour Group AGM to say that it would be his last as he knew he was about to defect. I guess he just felt very uncomfortable being there? Why, by the way, were you there? You're not a councillor. You have your fingers in too many pies!
Going backto Sheik, if the allegations (and they are pretty serious!) you make against him are true, why did the Labour Party not expel him? I smell a rat here, I'm afraid.
Yesterday Alan Stanton was telling me off for not wanting to get involved in the local council business and expecting them to make me happy just because that's their job (I'm not aware that they have another job, just other people to make happy).
Today you are telling Julie off for getting involved in local politics and council meetings despite the fact that she is not a councilor.
If Julie wasn't going to be telling us this (and I have suspected for a while that many of our councilors are weirdos and nutters) who is?
John, I would never tell you off about anything!
In fact you have my solemn promise that if I am ever made Mayor by public acclamation and given plenipotentiary powers, my first act will be to invite you to be my Chief Adviser on happiness.
Julie, can you also rubbish the many thousands of Labour members to have left the Labour Party over issues like arrogance, complacency, Iraq, privatisations etc., including people like Janet Harris, Michael Olajide, to name just two?
You should be honest and tell us how many more of your colleagues you would like to see gone now, rather than bitching about them once they have left the Labour Party. Can you do that?
You should also have made a personal declaration: Sheik is the councillor for Tottenham Hale where your best friend's partner, Alan Stanton, is also a councillor. Zena, Alan's partner, is, incidentally, now a Labour candidate for St. Ann's , your ward. Call me cynical, but what a small world it is (-:
Hello, Justin. In the interests of political transparency can you make it clear that you are now the Conservative candidate for Seven Sisters ward. You may wish to update your page.
Can we remind all those who participate in the political debates on HOL who hold office or who are seeking to hold a political office in the coming election to make that clear when they are replying to posts of a political nature.
Thank you
Once people have gone, they're fair game. If they're still party members, the correct way to deal with them is through disciplinary processes and deselection. I won't comment on Janet Harris, other than to say you are welcome to her. She was not in fact a member of the Labour party when she defected. She was briefly a member but lapsed in 2001. This hardly counts as storming away from the Labour party. We're all gutted to lose Michael.
What personal declaration do you want? I'm open about my membership of the Labour party and I'm proud to have Alan and Zena as my friends. How is this a scandal or a cover up?
What's wrong with Janet and Michael then? Did you not describe the latter as your "secret weapon" at the count in 2006? So why were you at the meeting when you're not a councillor, and why did the Labour Party not take disciplinary again against Sheik if what you say is true?
There is a small but powerful clique in the local Labour Party. Cllr. Bull told me that you operate like the Freemasons.
It seems your "Mole" has forgiven you for calling him a "useful idiot" and started 'rabbiting' again.
Well do ask him to share these views. I'm sure many people will share my interest in which local politicians (in every party ) are also members of the Freemasons / Rosicrucians. And of course, who attends their secret meetings? And whether or not there are any local business people there too?
Of course, this assumes that Mole is capable of speaking publicly 'on the record' and not just using you as his ventriloquist's dummy.

Incidentally, members of Hol will find my political declaration on my profile page, including the fact that my partner is Zena Brabazon. They can find the corresponding declaration on Zena's profile page.
I was thanking Michael Olajide for delivering a lot of leaflets. We were happy to let him do this because it got him out of the way. He has always been rather touchingly grateful for my compliment without realising that it mean that we didn't have to listen to him much or have him hanging round making a nuisance of himself. Janet has misrepresented herself as a Labour party member.
I was at the meeting as a teller and a delegate from the local government committee.
I believe the Labour party did take disciplinary action in fact, through the chief whip. Sheik Thompson was forced to apologise for his behaviour, though he did so with customary bluster, ill-grace and unpleasantness. He apologised by blaming everybody in the room for slavery, in effect.
I have never really met Cllr Bull. Why would he have been talking to you about me?
Why are all Labour's recent Mayors jumping ship? Gina? Sheila?
Maybe a year above the fray gives them a clearer view?
Or they don't fancy having their name on a road that nobody uses?
