Save the Whittington: Key report will not be made public

The McKinsey consultancy firm has advised NHS London that 60 per cent of A&E visits and 50 per cent of outpatient appointments can be met in super-size walk in health centres and “polyclinics”.

Are the NHS proposing that the Laurels Health Centre becomes our A&E? Will it be open 24hours, 365 days a year? If so, what was the point in closing the A&E at St. Ann's across the road?
The other side of this equation is that 40% of admissions to A and E are serious, including accidents, heart attacks, stokes, meningitis, seizures etc that cannot be treated at health centres or polyclinics. If the Whittington A and E closes then patients suffering from life threatening conditions will have to travel further through traffic to the Royal Free or to other hospitals. The extra time can make the difference between life or death.
If the A and E closes it will be the thin edge of the wedge as other supporting department and wards will also close.
